About
Assalomu Alaykum! My name is Yana and I am a student from California. I created this website after becoming interested in online resources for learning Uzbek, to better understand my relatives and family friends in Uzbekistan. Yet, after finding that no resources online were free, user-friendly, and had pronunciation recordings, I decided to create my own. With Joy of Uzbek, my one goal in mind is to provide people from all walks of life with a free, interactive learning platform. Explore the lessons and pick the ones that interest you.

You’re invited to take control of your learning path by joining our community. As this website expands, the main goal is to come up with more offerings that cater to an even wider audience across the globe. If you have any suggestions for improving Joy of Uzbek, please don't hesitate to contact me down below!

Pronunciation audios are original and recorded by native Uzbek speaker Qudrat Rahimhodzhayev, from the Uzbek Community Center in San Francisco.

This website is a work in-progress and is being updated regularly. Some lessons may not have audios yet. Thank you for your patience! I am always looking for help, so if you are an Uzbek speaker, please contact me below!
